The Syrian Kurdish Security Police (Asayish) announced that its forces arrested 20 to 30 suspects involved in the attack on the Asayish headquarters in the city center of Qamishli.

A large bombing carried out by the ISIL militants on August 19, which killed 9 civilians, 2 members of the Asayish, and injured 56 others, Basnews reported.

The ISIL claimed responsibility for the attack on 20th August, saying militant Abu Mohammed al-Ansari carried out a suicide operation with an explosives-laden water truck targeting the main Asayish base in the industrial district in Qamishli.

Investigations into the attack are ongoing, and final results of the investigation are likely to be released next week.
