Kuwaiti premier arrives in Tehran

Kuwait’s Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammed al-Ahmad al-Sabah has arrived in Tehran at the head of a high-ranking political and economic delegation.

The Kuwaiti premier was welcomed by Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki upon his arrival at the Mehrabad International Airport on Saturday morning.

The Kuwaiti official is expected to discuss issues of mutual interest during his two-day stay in Iran.

Sheikh Nasser Mohammad al-Ahmad al-Sabah traveled to Tehran at the invitation of Iran’s First Vice President Mohammed-Reza Rahimi.

He is expected to meet several senior Iranian officials, including the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the country’s President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Parliament Speaker, Ali Larijani.

Kuwaiti foreign, oil, finance and commerce ministers are accompanying al-Sabah during the official trip.
