Kyrgyz FM Terms Tehran-Bishkek Relations as “Satisfactory”

Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldaev lauded the close ties between his country and Iran, and voiced Bishkek’s determination to further increase bilateral relations with Tehran.

Speaking in a meeting with Iran’s Envoy to Kyrgyzstan Ali Najafi on Friday, Abdyldaev told Iranian diplomat that the relations between Iran and Kyrgyzstan are at the “satisfactory” level.

“We have an extensive agenda for boosting ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he stated.

“We have always been willing to strengthen and expand mutual cooperation with Iran in economic, trade and cultural areas, because Iran, as a big Muslim country, has a special status in the international arena.”

During the meeting, Iranian envoy submitted a copy of his credentials to the Kyrgyz minister.

Najafi also reiterated that Iran is ready to expand its relations with Kyrgyzstan.

Iran and Central Asia have in recent years accelerated their efforts to expand bilateral and regional cooperation in all the various fields.

In July 2012, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Kyrgyz Finance Minister Akylbek Japarov underlined that there is no restriction and limitation for the further expansion of the relations between Tehran and Bishkek.
