Large Amounts of Weapons Seized in al-Ramal al-Janoubi, Maintenance Workshops Repair Damages Caused by Armed Groups

Signs of normal life started to reappear in al-Ramal al-Janoubi neighborhood in Lattakia province after security and stability were restored by the law enforcement forces which cleared the area of the armed terrorist groups who are certainly supported and financed by US, France, Israel and their regional allies.

The residents attended to their wok and business and the maintenance workshops embarked on cleaning the neighborhood from the barricades and barriers set up by the gunmen and repairing the damaged infrastructure with the help of the inhabitants.

Ammar Abu Rekeb, member of the executive office of the Health Affairs and Civil Defense Department, pointed out that the governorate offered material and in-kind aid to the affected families and that medical and food materials were made available for the residents.

Director of Electricity Directorate in the province, Mudhar Ismael, noted that the sabotage acts which the armed groups perpetrated in al-Ramal al-Janoubi neighborhood deliberately targeted the electricity network and the transfer centers, saying the Directorate is doing its best to fix the damage and rehabilitate the network.

A number of residents recounted in interviews with SANA correspondent their first hand experiences of the armed groups’ acts in their neighborhood over the past several weeks.

“They sowed panic in our children’s souls…they forced us to go out on demonstrations at gunpoint,” said Omar Hassan, one of the inhabitants.

Khaled al-Masri, an inhabitant, expressed relief over the gradual return to normal life in the neighborhood after security and stability prevailed at the hands of the law enforcement forces.

Authorities Seize Large Amounts of Firearms, Explosives and Military Uniforms

The competent authorities seized large amounts of firearms, explosives, lethal booby trap tools and military uniforms which were hidden by the armed terrorist groups in al-Ramal al-Janoubi neighborhood in Lattakia province.

SANA correspondent said large amounts of weapons were seized in a house during the law enforcement forces’ pursuit of the members of those groups.

He pointed out that the firearms included machine guns, rifles and grenades, in addition to large quantities of ammunition, high explosives, detonators and dynamite.

The authorities also seized in another house a large number of gas cylinders prepared for explosion, Molotov cocktails and military uniforms to be used for undermining the reputation of the army, as well as computers, cameras, vehicle registration plates, drugs and large quantities of explosive materials.
