Larijani: Iran after durable security

Iran’s Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani has identified the reinforcement of sustainable development and security in the region through regional collaborations as a top priority in Iran’s foreign policy.
Larijani made the remark in a Monday meeting with new Kazakh envoy to Tehran Baghdad Amriyev, IRIB reported.

He said that Iran and Kazakhstan enjoy cordial and stable relations and pointed to their potentials to further expand cooperation in various spheres.

The top Iranian parliamentarian also underscored mutual economic cooperation and called for a boost in ties between the private sectors of the two countries.

The Kazakh envoy, for his part, said that parliamentary relations laid the groundwork for further cooperation between the two nations in other arenas.

He added that the Kazakh government and parliament attached great significance to the enhancement of ties with Tehran.

Amriyev referred to Iran’s ‘significant’ position in facilitating transit between eastern Asia and Europe and attached importance to Tehran’s active participation in the upcoming TransEurasia-2011 International Conference.

The TransEurasia-2011 International Conference, scheduled for November 10-11, will be held in the Kazakh capital, Astana.

The conference will focus on transport cooperation between Europe and Asia and will be attended by about 600 delegates from 50 countries and international organizations.
