Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani downplayed enemies’ attempts to diminish Tehran’s victories after the nuclear agreement, and said a big economic growth is awaiting the country.

The ill-wishers and the Zionist regime do not want the nuclear agreement to come into practice, but under any kind of circumstances, “the Islamic Republic of Iran will witness a major economic growth with the efforts which have been made”, Larijani said, addressing the ambassador and personnel of Iran’s mission at the UN on Monday.

He, meantime, underlined that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) should be implemented precisely so that the country will not sustain any damage and loss.

Iran and the world powers reached a final agreement in Vienna on July 14 to end a 13-year-old nuclear standoff.

A week later, the UNSC unanimously endorsed a draft resolution turning into international law the JCPOA reached between Iran and the world powers.

Now the US Congress and the Iranian parliament have less than 50 days to review the deal to approve or reject its practice.

In relevant remarks earlier this month, Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri said economic prosperity was the administration’s number-one target in the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21).

Jahangiri hailed the nuclear deal Iran clinched with the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany), and called on all domestic organizations to help the administration realize its plans in line with the country’s economic growth.

“The deal shall not be viewed as being an end in itself. Rather it is the first step in a new path for the government to work out solutions to the country’s issues by the empathy and support of the nation and the society’s elites,” the official said.

He, meantime, said the administration had plans to continue to run the country in case of the continuation or ever worsening of the western sanctions.
