Larijani: killing Muslims ‘genocide’ in CAR

Iran’s Parliament speaker has said killing of Muslims in Central African Republic is bare violence and genocide.

Ali Larijani who is in South Africa leading an Iranian delegation met with South African National Assembly speaker Max Sisulu and discussed the common matters of interest. “Iranians regard Nelson Mandela as a symbol of fighting apartheid and revere his character,” said Larijani.

On the issue of terrorism in the region and support of great powers for terrorist groups as a tactical short-term measure, Larijani told that to the extent that terrorism was spread the region, “fighting it would be difficult.”

Larijani appreciated South African position on Iranian nuclear issue and Palestinian issue. “Palestinian issue currently is an aspect of apartheid,” he believed, expressing concerns over violence in Central African Republic, “the way they handle Muslims in CAR is bare violence and genocide. This besmirches the face of Africa, and all should help solve the crisis,” he asserted.

Sisulu pointed to his countries position on Palestinian issue. “Our country has expressed support for Palestine in all international communities such as UN,” he said.
