Latest battle map of West Ghouta

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is rolling in the West Ghouta region of rural Damascus after launching a surprise attack on Friday at the key town of Khan Al-Sheih.

Led by the 4th Mechanized and 7th Armored divisions, the Syrian Arab Army managed to capture the Air Defense Base that is located at the outskirts of Khan Al-Sheih after a fierce battle with Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham (formerly Al-Nusra Front).

As a result of their advance on Friday, the Syrian Armed Forces have fully encircled Khan Al-Sheih, forcing the remaining militants to head back to the town in order to strengthen their defenses.

According to a military source in Damascus, the jihadists have sent a peace delegation to the front-lines in order to negotiate a possible surrender of Khan Al-Sheih in the coming days.
