Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed Imam Ayatollah Khamenei plants sapling to mark National Resources Week

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has planted a sapling to observe the nationwide occasion of Natural Resources Week.

Ayatollah Khamenei said on Tuesday that plants and trees are blessings bestowed upon the life of mankind.

The Leader added that the Iranian people and officials must work hard within the framework of their obligation to protect green environment, particularly forests and rangelands.

The Leader pointed to the destruction of forests and plant species and urged all Iranians to contribute to safeguarding the environment.

Every year, Iranians across the country plant trees to mark the week named after natural resources in the run-up to new calendar year on March 21.
