Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed Imam Khamanei: Fighting Arrogant Powers a Rational Move Based on Iranian Experience

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said on Tuesday that fighting world hegemonic and arrogant powers is a rational move supported by concrete facts which are based on the past experiences witnessed by the Iranian people.

Addressing a meeting with thousands of university and school students in Tehran, the Supreme Leader said the mistake [Mohammad] Mossadeq made after the successful nationalization of oil industry was to rely on the USA and to trust it.

Mossadeq was Iran’s prime minister in the early 1950s who was toppled by a US- engineered coup in 1953.

Sayyed Khamenei said American took advantage of his naïve assumptions and his extreme optimism toward US and launched the coup against him.

“What Americans have been busy doing in the few past years was to make certain people polish the US image to make the belief that Americans used to be hostile, but they are no longer going to behave like that,” his eminence stated.

The Ayatollah indicated that certain people are doing this on purpose but some others are doing it out of stupidity.

However, the Supreme Leader said, the objective was to disguise the true face of enemies from the nation so that they could stab it later.

Addressing the young Iranians, Ayatollah Khamenei urged them to study the documents gained from the US Den of Espionage and read them.

The Supreme Leader said the documents reveal how the Americans were busy plotting against the Islamic Republic at the very peak of revolution in the country.

He said the document show what the US is really like.

Tuesday marks the National Day of School Students and the takeover of the US embassy in 1979 by revolutionary students in Iran.
