Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Khamenei pardons several convicts

Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei pardoned and commuted prison terms of 102 armed forces inmates on Sunday.

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei decision was made on the occasion of the religious feast of the Shabaniyah, which celebrates the birth of the twelfth Ahlul Bait Imam, Imam Mahdi (PUBH) and liberation anniversary of Khorramshahr.

The decision was also in response to a request by Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani.

According to Article 110 of the Constitution, the Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei has the authority to pardon or commute prison terms of convicts upon a recommendation from the head of the Judiciary.
