Leader of Islamic Ummah Imam Khamenei urges confrontation with luxurious wages

During the meeting, Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei described parts of Nahj al-Balagheh by Imam Ali (PBUH) and pointed to a sermon by Imam Ali on performance in conspiracies where realization of truth is difficult for people and one should act in a way to avoid doing anything in favor of conspiracies; “in conspiracies like 2009 post-election issues, nothing such as one’s words, silence, action or even attitude should contribute to conspiracy. There of course people who for some reasons don’t want to take clear stance against plots and conspiracies; but they should also avoid being used as contributors to the plots.”

Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to another part of Imam Ali’s words whereas he criticizes authorities’ greed in wealth and power; “such a view towards positions degrades human being;” he asserted. “Skyrocketing salaries which is raised recently is an attack against the values and everyone must know that such cases are exemptions and most of high-ranking officials are honest. But even this few number of people receiving luxurious salaries is not acceptable and it must be confronted.”

Pointing to President Rouhani’s order to his first VP to follow the issue up, he urged that the issue must not take too long and needs to be taken seriously and the public opinion must be informed of its results.

Before Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei’s remarks, President Rouhani reported on most important issues of the country and the performance of his cabinet.

The meeting was concluded by prayers led by Supreme Leader and Iftar.
