Lebanese FM Hails Iran’s Role in Settling Regional Crisis

Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Qazanfar Roknabadi hailed Iran for its decisive role in regional developments.
“Iran plays an important role in settling the Middle East’s woes,” Bassil said during the meeting in the Lebanese capital on Thursday.

He underlined that terrorism has now turned into a serious threat to all countries in the region, and said, “The world countries are concerned about its (terrorism’s) unprecedented growth.”

Roknabadi, for his part, thanked the Lebanese foreign minister for his statements about Iran, and said, “Iran follows a foreign policy to boost interaction with regional countries.”

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has done its utmost to strengthen solidarity in the region and believes that regional problems should be solved by regional countries,” he said.

The two officials also discussed the further expansion of bilateral relations between Iran and Lebanon.

Iran and Lebanon enjoy cordial relations and have further expanded these ties in recent years.

The two sides have exchanged several delegations of high-ranking officials in the last three years.
