Lebanese Foreign Minister: Arab Ministerial Committee Decisions on Syria Irrelevant to the Observers’ Report

Adnan Mansour, Lebanese Foreign Minister, criticized as ”unbalanced” the decisions issued by the Arab League Council on Syria, stressing that they are completely irrelevant to the AL monitors’ report.

In a statement following his arrival from Cairo on Monday, Manosur said that some items in the Arab decision are unbalanced, adding that there are some parties who want to involve the UN Security Council in this decision-making.

”We said before that we have sensed internationalization of the crisis in Syria from the very beginning, and we required yesterday that the two sides hold fire, but focus was put on the Syrian authorities only…Focusing on one side doesn’t help solve the problem,” he added.

Mansour said that the Arab League decision will complicate the situation, affirming that dialogue is the sole exit from the crisis.

Answering a question on Syria’s stance regarding the AL decisions, Mansour said that Syria has opposed the decision because some of its items impinge on its sovereignty.
