Lebanese President Urges the Lebanese to Refrain from Sending Arms to Syria

The Lebanese President, Michel Suleiman, underlined the necessity that the Lebanese commit to the statement of Baabda and refrain from sending weapons and gunmen to Syria so as to protect civil peace and security in Lebanon.

In an Easter felicitation on Saturday, Suleiman called for respecting Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability for it to remain a model of coexistence between religions and cultures.

Suleiman hoped that the Easter would be an opportunity for peace to prevail, especially in Syria, and that the kidnapped and the displaced return home.
