Lebanon provides more clues on Beirut bombers

Lebanon’s security apparatus has gathered secret information about the identities of two suicide bombers of recent Beirut terrorist attack.

Lebanese security forces found some footage from cameras near Iranian embassy in Beirut, where the Tuesday bomb blasts killed 25 and injured almost 150 others, al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Thursday.

Both bombers of non-Lebanese nationals arrived in Beirut a few days before the heinous attack and stayed in Hotel Sheraton in Verdun district. The terrorists used faked identity cards to pretend they are of Lebanese origin.

Al-Joumhouria newspaper also wrote that the first bomber drove toward the Iranian embassy but the explosive-laden car hit another car. The suicide bomber, trapped between other cars and a police officer decided to blow up himself in front of the gate of the embassy.

According to the daily, the second suicide bomber found his car behind a tanker some meters before the gate of Iranian embassy, he attempted to pass the tanker, but a policeman tries to arrest him, when he detonate the second explosive-laden car.
