Terrorists Prevent Exit of Civilians from Idlib ahead of Syrian Army Operation

Terrorist groups captured a number of civilians as they were preparing to evacuate militant-held regions in Idlib province before the start of the Syrian Army preparation in Northwestern Syria, an Arab media outlet reported on Monday.

Al-Watan daily reported that terrorist groups captured three families, including women and children, after they intended to leave terrorist-held regions for safe regions via Abu al-Dhohour corridor, adding that the terrorists transferred the kidnapped civilians to an unknown location.

It went on to say that a large number of civilians have called for evacuation from terrorist-held regions in Idlib, adding that the terrorists have threatened to prevent civilians’ exit by any means.

The daily further said that the army has sent more troops to Idlib and Hama, adding that the army has sent over 800 soldiers from the town of al-Saqilabiyeh in Hama to Jourin base.

The army has also deployed a large number of tanks, cannon, missile launchers and fresh forces near the town of al-Jeed in Northwestern Hama.

Reports said on Saturday that terrorist groups, deployed in Northwestern Syria, went on alert as the government forces reinvigorated their combat capabilities for an imminent large-scale operation in Idlib, Lattakia, Hama and Aleppo provinces.

The National Liberation Front kept fighters on alert in Northwestern Syria, urging allied militants to help them counter the Damascus forces’ major operation in the region.

In the meantime, the army sent hundreds of forces and a large volume of military hardware, including tanks, personnel carrier and armored vehicles, to mountains in Northeastern Lattakia, Northern Hama and Southern Idlib.

A military source, meantime, said that the army has reinvigorated its positions in Hama, al-Ghaab plain and Jabal al-Turkmen after dispatching several convoys to the region via the road connecting al-Saqilibiyeh to Mahrada.

The source further said that the army is planning to kick off simultaneous operations in different flanks in Lattakia and Western Hama.
