Majlis defense body set to discuss Israel’s war on Gaza

Iran’s Majlis Defense Committee is scheduled to convene a meeting to discuss the latest developments in the Israeli aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip.

According to Esmail Kowsari, the chairman of the committee, the meeting will be held this week.

“The Iranian nation, as the defender of the rights of the Muslims and the oppressed in the world, cannot be indifferent with regard to the crimes by the Zionist regime [of Israel],” he said.

Kowsari expressed confidence in the ultimate victory of Palestine’s resistance movement against Israel.

The new wave of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has claimed at least 41 lives since November 14. Ahmed al-Ja’abari, the popular and influential head of the Hamas military wing, the Ezzedeen al-Qassam Brigades, was assassinated in an Israeli attack on his car last Wednesday.

On Friday, Ahmed Abu Jalal, a field commander of the Ezzedeen al-Qassam Brigades, was also killed in an Israeli airstrike on the central Gaza district of Maghazi.

Israel has called up about 75,000 army reservists amid reports of a possible ground incursion into the coastal enclave.
