Majlis MPs thank Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps

MPs in the Iranian parliament, the Majlis, have issued a statement thanking and praising the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), particularly with regards to the capture of the US Scan Eagle drone which was on a spying mission over Iranian airspace.

According to IRIB World Service, in their statement, Iranian MPs have said: “The high capabilities of the IRGC, particularly its state-of-the-art science and technology, have provided Islamic Iran with a very effective deterrence and a very capable military force, in all areas of defense, and the recent capture of unmanned aerial vehicles or drones, belonging to the arrogant colonialist powers, is just one example of the increasing capabilities of Iran’s armed forces”.
A few days ago, a US Scan Eagle drone, an unmanned aerial vehicle, was flying over the waters of the Persian Gulf, on a reconnaissance mission, gathering intelligence on Iran. The US drone was forced to land and captured by the control and electronic warfare units of the IRGC Navy as soon as it intruded into Iranian airspace.
In another incident three weeks ago, Iranian fighter jets were dispatched as soon as a US drone entered Iranian airspace over the waters of the Persian Gulf. The US drone was forced to flee in this incident.
