Malaysian website hails Iran’s success in decoding US drone

A Malaysian website has hailed Iran’s plan to build a drone based on the US pilotless aircraft which it had downed last year.

The “Malaysian Insider” wrote on Monday that Iran’s success in decoding the system of the US drone was a great achievement for the country.

It said that Iranian engineers are just completing the last phase of breaking the codes of the spy drone.

Quoting IRGC Air Force Commander Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, it said Iranian engineers have developed a full picture of the drone’s software and hardware structure.

The US drone was forced to land by Iranian experts in December, 2011 near the Afghan border. The RQ-170 Sentinel has been widely used since 2010 in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
