Marches in Nablus and Al-Khalil in protest at Kerry’s peace plan

images_News_2014_01_26_march-0_300_0Scores of Palestinian citizens in Nablus and Al-Khalil cities participated on Saturday in marches organized in protest at the so-called framework peace agreement proposed by US secretary of state John Kerry.

Protestors in Nablus chanted slogans and carried banners deploring Kerry’s peace plan and his visit to occupied Palestine, and demanding de facto president Mahmoud Abbas to withdraw from his peace talks with the Israeli occupation.

During the rally in Nablus, senior official of the democratic front for the liberation of Palestine Ramzi Rabah said in a speech before the crowds that Kerry’s repeated visits to the region are aimed at giving Israel more time to expand its settlement activities and impose a new fait accompli in the occupied territories in order to eliminate any chance for the Palestinians to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

In Al-Khalil, leftist political forces also organized a massive protest against Kerry’s plan.

Senior official of the Palestinian people’s party Fahmi Shahin called in a speech during the event on the Palestinian Authority to stop its conciliatory negotiations with the occupation and reject the US administration’s unilateral sponsor of the peace talks and its proposals that demand the Palestinians to accept the occupation and its practices as a fait accompli.
