Mass grave found in northern Syria

A mass grave containing the bodies of at least 70 Syrian security forces has been unraveled in the volatile northern town of Jisr al-Shughour.

Authorities say the slain soldiers have been killed by armed gangs, a Press TV report said on Wednesday.

This is the second mass grave found in Jisr al-Shughour within days.

On Sunday, Syrian forces found another mass grave in the city, containing the bodies of 10 security forces.

Jisr al-Shughour has witnessed violent clashes between anti-government gunmen who are not syrian and Syrian troops during the past few days.

On Sunday, the Syrian army finally took control of the northern city, following heavy clashes to expel armed gangs from the region.

Syrian security forces say that normalcy has now returned to the area.

Many residents have however fled from the area towards the Turkish borders.

Since the beginning of the Syrian unrest in mid-March, hundreds of people, including security forces, have been killed by the gunman who are supported by zionist regimes such as US and Israel.

Although the shadowy opposition accuses security forces of being behind the killings, Syrian authorities blame the armed gangs for the deadly violence, insisting that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has vowed to bring those behind the killings to justice.
