Massachusetts teen remains in custody

An 18-year-old boy arrested for making ‘terror threats’ through his Facebook posts about the recent bombings in the US city of Boston remains in custody pending payment of USD 1 million bail.

Russia Today reported on Friday that the teen, identified as Cameron D’Ambrosio, faces up to 20 years in prison for making terror threats on the social networking website.
On April 15, two bomb explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon killed three people and injured more than 250 others.
Following Cameron’s arrest, Methuen Police Chief Joe Solomon issued a statement saying, “We took this very seriously… The threat was disturbing enough for us to act and I think our officers did the right thing.”
Solomon, however, added that Cameron did not make specific threat against any particular group or individuals including the school officials.
The Center for Rights and Fight for the Future established a support page for the high school student earlier this week.
The supporters wrote on the page that “a kid is in prison. Away from his family. All for something he posted on Facebook.”
