‘Measures taken for freedom of Iranian diplomat in Yemen’

The senior Iranian legislator, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, has said that the essential measures have been taken for the freedom of one of the personnel of Iran’s Embassy to Yemen, Nour Ahmad Nikbakht, who was kidnapped in Sana’a by unidentified gunmen on Sunday, July 21.

According to IRIB World Service, the senior Iranian lawmaker, in an interview with ISNA, expressed hope that the efforts would soon bear fruit and the abducted Iranian diplomat would be freed.
Following the abduction of this Iranian diplomat, the Yemeni charge d’affaires to Tehran was summoned to Iran’s Foreign Ministry and the Islamic Republic of Iran’s deep concerns about the fate of this Iranian diplomat was declared to him.
Furthermore, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi, in a phone call with his Yemeni counterpart, Abu-Bakr al-Qorbi, condemned this crime and called on the Yemeni government to adopt serious measures for the freedom of the abducted Iranian diplomat.
