‘MENA uprisings promise Israel demise’

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says the wave of Islamic Awakening in the Middle East and North Africa tells of the beginning of the demise of the Israeli regime.

“Islamic Awakening and the region’s popular revolutions are preludes to the annihilation of the Zionist regime [of Israel] and the Palestinian nation’s definite victory,” the IRGC said in a statement, welcoming the upcoming International Quds Day, which falls on August 26 this year, IRNA reported.

The late founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and The Late Leader Of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Sayyed Imam Rouhollah Khomeini, named the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan as e Quds Day, calling for worldwide rallies in support of the Palestinian cause.

The statement said that by taking the initiative, The Late Leader Of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Sayyed Imam Rouhollah Khomeini  had aimed at creating the capacity in the Muslim World for the creation of an anti-Zionist front and preparing the grounds for the annihilation of the “cancerous tumor that is Israel.”

The statement added that the opening of the Gaza Strip-Egypt Rafah border crossing — Gaza’s only land terminal, which bypasses Zionist Occupation Israel — and the recent removal of the Zionist Occupation Israeli flag from the Zionist Occupation Israeli Embassy in Cairo are all clear indications of the collapse of the Zionist Occupation Israeli regime.

Egypt has been swept with anti-Israeli protests after a countrywide popular revolution ousted the 30-year-old regime of the pro-Tel Aviv Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak earlier in the year.

The revolution was preceded by one in Tunisia, which saw the overthrow of the country’s US-backed dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in January.

Both revolutions gave rise to anti-government protests across Bahrain, Jordan, Libya, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia.
