Militants do not favor interests of Syrians: Analyst

Militants in Syria are merely fulfilling the objectives of foreign elements and their atrocities have nothing to do with democratic interests of the Syrian nation, a political analyst says.

In a Thursday interview with Press TV, George Jabour pointed to the crimes committed by the militants and said: “Everybody now knows that these are criminals and that the atrocities they are committing are committed in order to serve some interests that are strange to the Syrian people.”

The political analyst argued that the militants in Syria are linked to Zionist circles as well as Saudi and Qatari fundamentalists, adding, “There is nobody now who believes that they are working for freedom and democracy.”

Months of clashes between different armed groups have killed thousands of Takfiri militants in Syria.

In February, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said clashes between extremist militants in Syria had left around 3,300 casualties since January.

More than 60 militants have reportedly been killed in a fresh wave of infighting among rival Takfiri terrorist groups operating in Syria over the past days.
