IRGC head of public relations office has rejected a Parliamentarian’s remarks that IRGC has battalions fighting for Assad in Syria.
Mehr News quoted Brig. Gen. Ramazan Sharif responding to a Mashhad representative in Parliament who said that hundreds of IRGC forces were fighting in Syria.

“We strongly deny having any IRGC and Iranian battalions in Syria. As we have said before, Iran has not deployed any military force in Syria, and we only provide military advisory services for Damascus,” he added.

Sharif called those who have public tribunes to be cautious about their remarks, “since their remarks would be exploited by the enemies of the Islamic Republic.”

“We expect the media to lend much sensitivity in publishing such staff lest it would give a pretext to foreign media for launching psychological propagandist war against us,” Sharif asserted.
