Ministry of Youth and Sports established in Iran

IRI lawmakers votes Sunday to a plan to establish a Ministry of Youth and Sports Sunday.

The lawmakers in a morning session Sunday explored details of a plan to merge the former Physical Training Organization and former National Organization of Youth into a new ministry.

157 representatives voted in favor of the plan while 44 voted against and 11 abstained.

The Majlis also approved allocation of sources of budget, human resources and equipment to the new ministry.

It also envisioned the necessary legal measures and modifications to be taken before merging the two former organizations into a single ministry.
