More Civilians Killed in Terrorists’ Fire at Humanitarian Corridor in Eastern Ghouta

Terrorists opened fire again at fleeing civilians in Jesrin humanitarian corridor in Eastern Ghouta, killing four people on Saturday.

Four civilians, including a woman and three children, were killed after the militant groups opened fire at the people who were trying to leave terrorist-held regions in Eastern Ghouta for the regions that are under the Syrian Army’s control via a humanitarian corridor between Jesrin and the village of al-Maliha.

In the meantime, Faylaq al-Rahman Commander Abdulnaser Shami threatened to punish severely those Eastern Ghouta residents that try to end battle against the army.

Meantime, local sources reported that a popular uprising is underway in Eastern Ghouta, including in Hamouriyeh settlement, to urge the terrorists to withdraw from the region.

The Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria in Humeimim reported on Friday that the terrorist groups opened fire at a convoy of 300 families who were trying to leave militant-held regions in Eastern Ghouta for government forces-held regions via a humanitarian corridor, killing and wounding a number of them.

Brigadier General Vladimir Zolotokhin, a spokesman for the Russian center, said that terrorists targeted a convoy of civilians, including 300 families, only 1 km South of the humanitarian corridor in the village of al-Maliha in Eastern Ghouta, setting fire at three vehicles.

Zolotokhin further said that terrorists hit the families with numerous mortar rounds in the presence of journalists, inflicting large casualties on them.

Head of the Russian Centers Major General Yuri Yevtushenko said a number of civilians were killed or wounded in Faylaq al-Rahman’s attack in the village of al-Maliheh.

He further said that the terrorists intensified their attacks on al-Wafedeen camp humanitarian corridor during the hours of the daily ceasefire to punish the fleeing civilians and block their exit path.
