Iran blast sign of enemies desperation

Iran’s interior minister says a recent bombing in northwest of the country, which killed women and children, shows the depth of the enemies’ “desperation.”

A bomb explosion in the Iranian city of Mahabad in West Azarbaijan Province killed twelve people and injured 80 others on Wednesday.

The explosion in Mahabad was a blind attack and without any military, operational and political value, Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar said on Thursday.

“The responsible bodies including Interior Ministry will firmly and swiftly take action to identify, arrest and punish the perpetrators of the terrorist attack,” IRNA quoted the minister as saying.

The attack took place as people were watching a military parade.

Earlier Thursday, Iranian Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi said Moslehi noted that the group behind the terrorist attack has been identified and that the required information has been given to different bodies to keep them vigilant on the Mahabad event.
