NAM summit is a turning point in int’l cooperation: Expert

A Serbain university professor said the 16th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit in Tehran is a turning point in political independence and international cooperation.

Professor Liliana Bougova Sedlar said US imperialism was opposed to NAM goals to form a system different from current world system.

She added in a world where a number of western countries claim that they are defending human rights, we witness wars and killing of innocent people and prevention of independent countries from making progress.

On the other hand, these states do not observe people’s rights to live and impose their own way of life on others.

Referring to his latest published book about necessity of basic changes in current world system, she said that the United Nations is far from its own primary goals in providing security and world peace and has turned into an instrument in the hands of a big power to deprive nations of their freedom and create instability in the world.

She described the 16th NAM summit as an opportunity to make member states closer to each other, practice its goals and find appropriate ways to secure world security.

The Serbian professor proposed creation of a news network for member states to inform world public opinion about international developments and reflect realities. She expressed confidence that in Tehran meeting steps will be taken to thwart negative propaganda against third world countries.
