Nasrallah praises Palestinian courage

The leader of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, has praised the protesters who braved Israeli gunfire on the historic Nakba Day.

We must bow before the courage, the bravery, of those who protested yesterday at Lebanon and Syria’s borders with occupied Palestine, who faced the tyranny of the enemy with bare chests and their heads held high,” AFP quoted Nasrallah as saying in a statement on Monday.

Thousands of Palestinians marked the 63rd anniversary of the Nakba Day on Sunday, protesting the Israeli occupation of their homeland on May 15, 1948.

The Hezbollah leader said to those Palestinians, “Your message, loud and clear, to the enemy is that you will liberate your lands, that the fate of this entity (Israel) is demise, and that no initiatives, treaties or borders will protect it.

You, the honorable, have given the Nakba new meaning,” he went on to say.

Israeli forces reportedly killed at least 10 protesters and injured more than 110 others during the demonstrations in southern Lebanon on Sunday.

Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been expelled from their homeland to the West Bank and Gaza Strip and other countries in the world since the 1948 Israeli occupation.
