Nasrallah Raps Arabs’ Indifference to Muslim Massacres, Israeli Attacks

Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Movement Seyed Hassan Nasrallah lashed out at the Arab League for its failure to show a proper reaction to the massacre of the Muslims in different parts of the world, including the Israeli aggressions against Lebanon and Palestine.

“What action has the Arab League adopted on (developments in) Gaza, Sudan or Myanmar?” Nasrallah asked during his address at a ceremony on the occasion of the National Day of Martyr in Beirut last evening, pointing to the massacre of the Muslim minority in the Southeast Asian state.

“Every day, we hear about the crimes that are committed against Muslims in Myanmar but what other reaction have they shown except for issuing statements? Where are the Arab and Islamic world?”

Referring to the bombardments of Gaza by Israel which have killed and injured many Palestinian, Nasrallah deplored the Arab League failure in showing reaction to prevent the Israeli aggression.

“If we (Lebanese) had stood waiting for the Arab League (reaction) we would have witnessed Israeli settlements in Lebanon now. Where is the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC)?” he added.

The Buddhist-majority government of Myanmar refuses to recognize Rohingyas and has classified them as illegal migrants, even though the Rohingyas are said to be Muslim descendants of Persian, Turkish, Bengali, and Pathan origin who migrated to Myanmar as early as the 8th century.

According to reports, thousands of Myanmarese Rohingya Muslims are living in dire conditions in refugee camps ever since government forces and Buddhist extremists started burning down their villages on August 10.

Reports say some hundreds of Rohingyas have been killed in the Rakhine State in the West of the country in recent months. This is while 1,200 others are missing and 80,000 more have been displaced.
