Syrian Army Tightens Noose on Terrorists in Eastern Homs
The army soldiers took control over the villages of al-Jaberiyeh and Baraqa al-Nashmeh North of the village of Um al-Rish.
A military source said that the army men have gained military control over the villages of al-Wazihi and Tuweineh after capturing al-Jaberiyeh and Baraqa al-Nashmeh, adding that the army has kicked off fresh operations to liberate al-Wazihi and Tuweineh.
A military source said on Tuesday that the army sent a large number of fresh forces and a large volume of weapons and ammunition to Eastern Homs to reinvigorate the pro-government forces in Badiyeh (desert) to face ISIL’s recent threats.
The source said that large groups of army soldiers along with a long convoy of military hardware were forwarded to Eastern Homs to be used in anti-ISIL operations in the region.
The sources further said that tough battles were underway between the army and ISIL terrorists in several flanks East of the town of al-Sukhnah, near the third station, al-Heil oilfield and in Qasr al-Hayer al-Sharqi region, adding that the army men were advancing toward al-Saroukh region Southeast of al-Sukhnah.
