NEW VIDEO: Residents of Syria’s 2 Villages of Foua and Kefarya Evacuated
Hundreds of people from the rebel-besieged Shia villages of Foua and Kefarya in northwestern Syria were evacuated on Monday.
The opposition’s British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and the pan-Arab Al-Mayadeen TV claimed 10 buses left the villages with civilians onboard.
The evacuation of more than 2,000 sick and wounded villagers was added on as a condition to the Turkey/Russia-brokered cease-fire deal at the last minute.
The deal paved the way for the last rebels and civilians to leave the rebel-held enclave in the eastern part of Aleppo.
Evacuations from Foua and Kefarya had stalled on Sunday after militants burned six empty buses assigned to evacuate residents.
