Nicaraguan President Underscores Iran’s Role in Global Peace, Security

Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed Tehran’s important role in promoting and safeguarding peace and security in the world.

During the meeting on Wednesday, Ahmadinejad described the recent aggressive measures by hegemonic powers as indication of “desperation and weakness” in front of the awakened nations of the world.

The Iranian president stressed the importance of vigilance “against the insane measures adopted by domineering powers.”

He added that imperialist powers are trying to save the Israeli regime and their collapsing economies with every step they take and through the hypes they create.

Ahmadinejad indicated Iran’s readiness to assist the revolutionary and freedom-seeking people of Nicaragua.

Iran’s President Ahmadinejad arrived in Nicaragua on the second leg of his Latin American tour on Tuesday.

Ahmadinejad started his five-day Latin American tour in the Venezuelan capital Caracas on Saturday.

The US warned Latin American states on Friday against expanding diplomatic and business ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressing concern over “Iran’s outreach to the Western Hemisphere.”
