No single winner in Iran nuclear talks

According to Mehr news agency, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said in an interview with the Dutch daily Trouw a negotiated comprehensive settlement of the standoff over Tehran’s nuclear energy program talks would be a win-win situation as it would remove alleged Western concerns and recognize Iran’s inalienable rights.

He said “The 5+1 group (the US, the UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) fears that we may build a nuclear weapon. So, if there are enough guarantees that Iran does not intend to develop nukes, the other side can say that it has won.”
He added “And what do we want? We seek to produce nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. If this right is recognized, we have won too. This is the most important point in the interim deal between Iran and the six countries. Parties to the talks have realized that there is no single winner.”
On November 24, Iran and six powers sealed an interim agreement in the Swiss city of Geneva to pave the way for the full resolution of the West’s decade-old dispute with Iran over its nuclear energy program.
