“Nuclear scientists’ assassination is due to enemies’ desperation.” Cleric

Iranian religious figure underscored the reason behind assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists saying it is due to desperation of the enemies to hinder fast speed growth in Iran’s scientific development in the world.

Hujjat-ol-Islam Mir Ahmad Reza Hajati, head of Khoozestan Seminary said these assassinations are in fact a manifest of the enemies’ weakness and not due to its determination, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said the reason behind the recent assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist, Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, is to frighten the people and particularly the young elites while this is all a vain effort.

He referred to the scientific developments in the Islamic Republic of Iran and said, “Quickening scientific growth of Iran, especially in nuclear and Nanotechnology, has drawn the attention of the countries to Iran because these technologies used to be dominated by the illegal powers of the world.”

“It is quite natural that our enemies have problems with nuclear and scientific developments of Iran.” said the religious figure and added this was due to the point that their tightening economic and military sanctions cannot hinder Iran, they haves started to assassinate scientific faithful forces.”

In the same line, Hujjat-ol-Islam Seyyed Abolhassan Hassanzade, interim prayer leader in the southern city of Ahvaz said, “The more nuclear scientists are assassinated, the more determined the youth will be to protect the glory of Islamic Republic of Iran.”

He said the assassinations of Iranian scientific figures are aimed at blocking the way of development, destabilizing the country and creating a frightening atmosphere among the scientific elites of the country.

The remarks came in the wake of the assassination of Iranian scientist Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan on January ۱۱ when an unknown motorcyclist attached a magnetic bomb to his car near a college of Allameh Tabatabaei University in Tehran.

He was killed immediately and his driver, who sustained injuries, died a few hours later in hospital.

Ahmadi Roshan was a Sharif University of Technology chemical engineering graduate and served as the deputy director of marketing at Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility.

This is the fourth effort in a row of terrorist attacks against Iran’s nuclear scientists starting with the assassination of top university professor and nuclear scientist Masoud Ali Mohammadi back in January 2010.
