Occupiers have brought insecurity to Iraq

The visiting leader of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq, Ammar Hakim, conferred on Tuesday with the Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.

Rafsanjani said restoration of security in Iraq is of prime importance for the country’s development and that presence of occupiers is the root cause of instability in the war-torn country.

“Solidarity and cooperation among Iraqi nation is the key to their victory,” he said.

“The enemies through sowing discord among Iraqi officials seek to attain their sinister goals. Iraqi officials are required to exercise vigilance to thwart the conspiracies,” Ayatollah Rafsanjani said.

Rafsanjani said that material and spiritual facilities in Iraq are now regarded as big asset for the country’s development and that any opportunity should be sized by Iraqi people in this respect.

Iraqi people deserve much better life and all people should try to make a big change in their welfare standards as well as the country’s economic status, Rafsanjani said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran spares no efforts to help reconstruct Iraq as the Iranian people have always proved that they render full support for Iraqi nation, he said.

The visiting leader of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq, Ammar Hakim, the elder son of the late leader of Iraq’s largest Shia party Abd al-Aziz Hakim, briefed Rafsanjani on the current developments in Iraq and said the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq promotes cooperation and solidarity among Iraqi nation.

Lauding the cooperation and assistance of the Islamic Republic of Iran to help remove his country’s problems, he said the Iraqi people call for a better life under the rule of Islam and never forget Iran’s assistance to Iraqi reconstruction, he said.
