The OIC members in a meeting held at the UN headquarters in New York on Friday condemned the fresh Israeli aggression against the Palestinian civilians, and called for an immediate stop in the Zionist regime’s crimes in the Palestinian territories.

They also underlined their determination to increase political efforts, specially at the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly, to immediately stop the Israeli invasion of Gaza.

During the meeting, Indonesia and Morocco announced their financial aids to the Gaza people and other OIC members were also urged to help the Palestinian nation.

Also on Friday, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) strongly condemned Israel’s recent wave of aggression against the Palestinians, calling on the international community to break its silence on the Israeli crimes.

During a meeting held at the UN headquarters in New York yesterday, the movement members discussed the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Iran’s Permanent Representative to the UN Hossein Dehqani who presided the NAM’s meeting, deplored the Israeli regime’s bombardment of the civilian Palestinian areas as a flagrant violation of human and international rights.

“Such crimes are committed in a situation that the Gaza Strip has been besieged cruelly in recent years and the humanitarian conditions in this region are at the worst level,” Dehqani said.

He also reminded the international community of its responsibilities to prevent the current massive crimes, and blasted the UN Security Council for its inaction and silence against the Israeli crimes.

Israel has been pounding the blockaded Gaza for five consecutive days, killing at least 120 people and injuring more than 600.

On Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham slammed the Israeli regime’s “brutal” aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, urging a swift international action to stop the raids.
