How Iran countered Israeli aggression: Analyst

338131_Zarif-teamIran’s diplomatic moves in Geneva took me back to a time of watching Chinese Kung Fu movies. You remember those, where the hero performs amazing fighting acrobatics to block and deliver blows to a bewildered opponent, who grows dizzy from the pace.

We are watching an historic demonstration of Iran playing Kung Fu with the Zionists, deflecting the energy of their attacks and turning back around on them. None of Netanyahu’s blows strike the mark as Iran is not there when they arrive.

This moving target defense is combined with a flurry of public relations counter-blows. Iran’s diplomacy moves will become Netanyahu’s political grave stone as each passing week shows it is more real than any Founding Myth of Israel.

Even in the month leading up to the last Geneva meeting, we watched an almost daily procession of high-level foreign visitors to Tehran to exchange greetings and offering to turn over a leaf in relations, particularly trade relations. President Rouhani and Foreign Minister Zarif were being treated as celebrities, while Netanyahu and AIPAC were treating America and Obama like a misbehaved slave that needed punishment.

Western sanctions were beginning to crumble before our eyes while Bibi was running around doing his “It’s a bad deal” pitiful display. Senior American Senators joined Bibi by holding hands and jumping off the credibility bridge, something that many of us will devote the rest of our lives making sure is a one-way trip… and well deserved.

Even P5+1 members were part of this Western entourage, not only with the Germans, who must have had early warning they were now being dragged down into recession, but then a surprise with Britain’s Hague initiating discussions about exchanging envoys in a step-by-step process.

We respect and admire well-planned and -executed diplomatic moves by Iran defending itself against an obvious bully. We were opening Press TV first thing every morning to see what new cards were being played for the day. Was it Turkey stating that they would not reduce oil purchases, or Japan sending a delegation to propose building a string of nuclear power plants?

Iran’s diplomatic push did not end with the victory of the initial six-month agreement, a part of which stipulated no new sanctions, something that let the air out of all four of Netanyahu’s tires. Bibi’s ‘historic bad deal’ hype had fallen on deaf ears.

The congressional bluff to pass new sanctions to kill the talks had been a ruse. Although they could have introduced the legislation they did not have the votes to pass it. And of course our American corporate media left that little key item out of their reporting. They have been the enemy of peace throughout the process and are only lukewarm supporters now.

Mr. Zarif and his team wisely suspected that the Israelis knew they were going to lose and that the Zionists would begin stage two of their assault while the ink was still damp on the agreement. The Israelis, using their favorite attack tool – feeding bogus stories to media shills – trotted out that new sanctions would be ready to go when they caught Iran violating the agreement.

What did Iran do to counter this hype? They just stuck to doing what had been working for them… offering to engage others in their new horizon for bringing peace and stability to the region, and ignoring the threats of the silly people.

A new procession of world leaders and business people are now heading to Tehran to get in on the ground floor. Individual countries are starting to push back on sanctions already, not wanting to wait for the six-month approval. Turkey, for example, wants to crank the gold trade back up quickly and it is already talking about a new pipeline deal for Iran exports to Europe. Both countries are discussing a Syrian resolution.

Developments among the Persian Gulf states have been even more amazing. Virtually all the countries not only publicly supported the interim agreement but made a big splash over their wanting to ‘improve relations’ with Iran. And the tone here was not one of outfoxing them in negotiations but in actually resolving past issues.

Zarif seems to be working 18-hour days making headlines everywhere he goes. After his visit with Qatar’s Emir Al Thani, we have the latter saying that Qatar “wants a powerful Iran in the region”. Similar results were obtained in Kuwait and Oman.

Mr. Zarif will be in the UEA this week trying to iron out the sticky issue over the disputed islands in the Persian Gulf, for which the UEA has no valid position whatsoever. But their foreign minister had the gem line of the week to show where we are heading regardless of what the banksters and string pullers in the West think.

“We are the Islamic Republic of Iran’s neighbor, but we do not want to stay at that level, and are seeking to be the country’s partner.”

He used the word partner. That is what the Qatari emir meant by wanting a powerful Iran. There have been other hints in the language from Iran about the region providing its ‘own regional security.’ What this translates into is there will be no future need for American warships to ever set foot in the Persian Gulf without an invitation. I predict it will be designated a ‘closed military zone’ in the future. You can laugh at me all you want… just wait and see.

They are putting America and the West on the spot. If the Westerners want to do business in the future, they need to leave their guns at home. This will be great for our soldiers as they will no longer be abused as muscle for US and even foreign business interests.

Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan hit the nail right on the head yesterday. “Foreign elements seek to provoke Iranophobia in an attempt to justify their presence in the region, but, today, this situation is failing.”

He is 100% correct. You have to be in a comma to not understand now the betrayal of Western governments on their people with their phony threats to justify military deployments. Sadly, America leads the pack and we have Mr. Bush, Cheney, the neo-cons, banksters and Israeli lobby to thank for that. But we must also accept some responsibility for being too easy to fool.

We now have to turn our guns around and hunt down all those at home who have been the real threats. Israeli lobbies have to be destroyed everywhere as terrorist organizations. No country is safe while they can operate prosecution-free, and believe me… they do. But this will require a thorough institutional purging as they have placed their people in key blocking positions knowing that this day would come.

The irony of this all is that the motivation for the rest of us would come from an Iran that is calling for the removal off all WMDs in the world; an Iran that says that terrorism and extremism are the main threats to the region, and that major Western countries have been actively engaged in that terrorism.

We will have some accounts to settle with the real threats at home, which is way past due.
