Oil Official: Iran Supporting Domestic Firms to Fight US Sanctions

A senior official at Iran’s Persian Gulf Star Refinery (PGSR) said that the domestic companies operating in the oil and gas industry are receiving more support to help the country decrease impacts of the US cruel sanctions.

Senior PGSR Emad Zaryee said that the main policy taken by the company’s managers is to support domestic producers and suppliers.

“This approach has played a major role in developing production, increasing competitiveness and promoting the quality level of products,” he added.

Zareyee noted that sensitive parts like compressors and pumps are now made by domestic companies to decrease the impacts of the US cruel sanctions.

The Persian Gulf Star Refinery, known as Bandar Abbas Gas Condensate Refinery, with a daily processing capacity of 360,000 barrels of gas condensate, is aimed at producing gasoline, gas oil, gas condensate and jet fuel after being fully inaugurated.

Construction of Iran’s Persian Gulf Star Refinery started in 2006, and the third phase was commissioned in 2018.
