Pakistan’s top religious party:”Steadfastness of Iran forces US to retreat”

Central leader of Pakistan’s top religious party on Saturday said that steadfastness of Iran has forced the US and its allies to retreat.

Talking to IRNA, Dr Farid Ahmad Paracha Deputy Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami expressing his views over the decision of the US to exempt 11 countries from new sanctions on Iran said that it shows that US has failed in its designs against Iran.

The religious leader said the approach of US towards the Islamic Republic is unjustified and illogical. “The US was trying to impose its policies on Iran which is a sovereign state”, he said.

Dr Farid Ahmad Paracha noted the US has not been able to get support from other countries on new sanctions against Iran. “The sanctions have proved a futile exercise against Iran”, opined the Jamaat-e-Islami leader.

He said that trilateral conference of Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan gave a clear message to US and west that the regional countries are united. “US has failed in its motives against Iran,” said the politician.

Dr Farid Ahmad Paracha was of the view that the US faced humiliation in the world because of its approach. “Aggressive policies are proving counter productive for the US,” he opined.

The religious leader said that another reason for US to retreat on its attitude towards Iran is that the oil prices are increasing in the international market. “The American strategy towards Iran could double the oil prices”, he warned.

“You cannot stop other countries from purchasing Iranian oil,” he told US. Dr Farid Ahmad Paracha said even the sanctions of United Nations are not applicable on Iranian oil.

He went on to say many countries in the world are not accepting the American sanctions against Iran.

Dr Farid Ahmad Paracha strongly believed that US anti-Iran propaganda is failed. The Jamaat-e-Islami leader said ‘they (US) have to understand that they cannot dictate their policies to the whole world.
