Palestine- Dweik: Meeting with Abbas soon

Palestinian Legislative Council speaker Dr. Aziz Dweik said he will meet with PA president Mahmoud Abbas soon to discuss ways to push forward the reconciliation process.

Dweik told the PIC on Friday that no PLC session is expected in the coming days because its activation is linked to completion of the reconciliation.

Slaughterer Israeli occupation authority is worried about the possible achievement of reconciliation, he said, adding that arresting the Palestinian MPs by the occupation aims to undermine the reconciliation efforts.

Meanwhile, Change and Reform bloc, affiliated with Hamas movement, considered the arrest of the PLC speaker office’s director by PA security services as an exchange of arrest roles with the occupation, calling on Egypt to advise the Palestinian Authority to stop all arrests in the West Bank.

MP Dr. Salah Al-Bardawil, the spokesman of the Hamas parliamentary bloc, said that the exchange of roles between the PA security agencies and the Israeli occupation is a shameful black spot in the PA history which does not help to achieve the Palestinian reconciliation.

Bardawil called for the immediate release of the PLC speaker office’s director and all political prisoners, and asked the Egyptian president and the Egyptian general intelligence to put an end to the PA immoral practices.

The spokesman also called on human rights organizations and the Palestinian factions to shoulder their responsibilities towards the recent developments.
