Palestine is our country from sea to Jordan

Hamas said that all of historical Palestine from the Mediterranean Sea to River Jordan was and “will remain our country and Jerusalem will remain ours”.

In a statement on the occasion of the land day, Hamas said that the Palestinian people would never give up their land, holy shrines or rights including the right of return for millions of refugees to their ancestral homeland.

The movement categorically rejected the idea of an alternative homeland, which is marketed by the “Zionist enemy”.

It urged the Palestinians wherever they may live to renew their pledge to stand united in demanding national rights and to refuse to bargain or compromise.

Hamas urged the Palestinian masses to rally behind resistance in face of “Zionist schemes” and to defend their land and holy shrines.

It said that there is no other option but resistance until liberation of the land and the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Land day is marked by Palestinians across the divide on the 30 March every year since 1976, when in response to the Israeli government’s announcement of a plan to expropriate thousands of dunums (1 Dunum= 1000 square meters) of land for “security and settlement purposes”, a general strike and marches were organized in Palestinian towns across 1948 occupied Palestine.

In the ensuing confrontations with the Israeli army and police, six Palestinian citizens were killed, about one hundred were wounded, and hundreds of others arrested.
