Palestinian captives in Israeli Eshel jail go on hunger strike

images_news_2012_04_prisoners_300_01The Palestinian captives in “Eshel” prison declared on Thursday a hunger strike, in protest against the isolation of 27 captives and against the Zionist regime’s repression policy carried out against them.

The Ministry of Prisoners’ Affairs said, in a press statement, that the prisoners returned their meals for the second day in a row, protesting against the isolation of 27 prisoners, and against the escalation brutal policy pursued against prisoners, including storming their rooms and strip search, according to the statement.

The captives said that the prison administration closed the sections, and prevented them from going out to the yards, and prevented them from visits, pointing out that the situation is still fraught and tense.

The ministry said the escalation in the “Eichel” prison began after the prison administration has filmed and broadcasted a ceremony set up by prisoners, sparking incitement against prisoners by the Israeli right-wing.
