Palestinian Figure: Israeli Attack on Gaza Initiated with US Green Light

A prominent Palestinian figure condemned the Zionist regime’s continued raids on the Gaza Strip, and underlined that Israel dared to attack the Palestinians only after it received the US green light.

“Attacking Gaza is not possible without the US green light and the Zionist enemy receives the US approval before conducting such a move,” Head of the Palestinian Islamic Council in Lebanon Sheikh Mohammad Nimr Zaghmout told FNA on Saturday.

He added that the stances taken by the US officials also substantiate Washington’s support for the Israeli attack.

He described Tel Aviv as “the enemy of the Islamic Ummah (community)” and called on some regional and Arab countries to cut their relations with Israel.

Zaghmout also deplored some regional countries’ collaboration with the West and the US on supporting the Zionist regime, and said the recent visit to Gaza by Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani took place at the order of Israel.

Meantime, informed sources disclosed that the residence and offices of a number of Hamas leaders were identified during the recent visit to the Gaza Strip by Qatar’s King.

The emir of Qatar gifted a number of watches and ballpoint pens to Hamas leaders, which transmitted low-frequency signals to Israeli satellites, the sources, who asked to remain unnamed due to the sensitivity of the information, told FNA, adding that the Israeli military officials would then use the received signals to spot and assassinate senior Hamas officials.

Sheikh Hamad arrived in Gaza on October 23 to become the first head of state to visit the besieged enclave since the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, took power in the territory five years ago.

Qatar’s emir has repeatedly met with Israeli leaders, and is working hard to boost the diplomatic clout of his small Persian Gulf country.

Israel assassinated Ahmed al-Ja’abari, the popular and influential head of the Hamas military wing, the Ezzedeen al-Qassam Brigades, on Wednesday followed by a new wave of air and ground assaults on Gaza.

Two days later on Friday, Ahmed Abu Jalal, a field commander of the Ezzedeen al-Qassam Brigades, was also killed in an Israeli airstrike on the central Gaza district of Maghazi.
