Palestinian MP warns of land collapse in the Aqsa Mosque

Dr. Ahmad Abu Halabiyeh, head of Jerusalem Committee at the PLC, warned of the continuing Israeli digging under Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Abu Halabiyeh said in a press statement that seismologists have warned of an earthquake measuring 5.5 on Richter scale that might lead to land subsidence in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He pointed out that the Israeli excavations and tunnels under Al-Aqsa mosque are meant to facilitate its demolition.

Any further earthquake would lead to significant land collapses in the area due to the Israeli excavations, he added.

He stressed that the Palestinians will not remain silent towards Israeli violations in Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling for exposing Israeli practices.

Meanwhile, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemned the Israeli continued violations in Al-Aqsa Mosque and Israeli attempts to divide the holy place temporally and spatially, calling for a firm position against Israeli Judaization policy in occupied Jerusalem.

During meetings of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Guinea on Monday, Saudi Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Abdulaziz Bin Abdullah said that the Islamic world has been facing serious challenges, stressing the need to alleviate its political, social and economic impacts on the Islamic Nation.

He pointed to the Israeli escalated settlement construction that would put an end to the peace process in the region, calling on the international community to bear its responsibility and to pressure the Israeli authorities to stop its illegal practices against the Palestinian people.
