Palestinian PM Haniyeh Calls for Int’l Bid to Foil Israeli Judaization of Holy Quds

A1057354Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh asked Morocco as the current head of the international al-Quds committee to call a meeting to devise moves to defuse Israel’s Judaization plans in the Holy Quds (also known as Beitol-Moghaddas or Jerusalem).

Haniyeh made the remarks in a meeting with a high-ranking Moroccan delegation headed by the country’s Head of Unity and Reform Movement Abdul Jalil al-Jasseni and also head of Morocco’s parliamentary delegation Abdul Aziz Aftati in the Gaza City on Monday.

He urged Morocco to revive its role in supporting the Holy Quds against Israel’s Judaization plans and call for an immediate al-Quds committee meeting to this end.

Al-Jasseni, for his part, said that he and his accompanying delegation “have come to help Palestinians break the Gaza’s political and economic siege.

The Al-Quds committee was founded on the recommendation of the Sixth Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers of Member States of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in Jeddah in June 1975. The committee has 16 member-states, including Iran.

Israel has long been pursuing a Judaization plot to change the identity of the region. Ever since the 1967 Six-Day War, Israel has been increasingly exercising its Judaization scenario all across the occupied lands in Palestine and the Golan Heights (in Syria).

Last year, Israel’s inner cabinet decided to speed up construction of homes for Jews in Arab East Quds (Jerusalem) and in other nearby settlements to punish the Palestinians for winning membership in the UN cultural agency, UNESCO.

Since then, Israel has issued announcements for the construction of 2,057 new homes in Arab East Quds and 1,241 in the West Bank, official figures show.

At least 200,000 Israelis live in a dozen settlement neighborhoods in East Quds (Jerusalem), which was captured by Israel in 1967 and annexed in an aggressive move never recognized internationally.
