People of the occupied Syrian Golan on Thursday stressed that the Golan is Syrian Arab land, reiterating their steadfastness against all Israeli practices which aim to juadize their land and impose the Israeli identity.

The remarks came during a central festivity held at Dar al-Golan for Culture and Arts in al-Baath city in Quneitra, marking the 31st anniversary of the national Open Strike staged in Golan on February 14th, 1982.

The participants stressed adherence to the Syrian Arab identity and belonging to homeland Syria, expressing determination to continue fighting against the Israeli occupation until liberating the whole Golan.

They hailed the sacrifices of civilian and military Syrians to defend the homeland’s security and stability.

Governor of Quneitra, Malek Mohammad, said that the people of Golan, in their steadfastness and commitment to their identity and homeland, are similar to the Syrian people who have proved their unity in the face of all conspiracies.

He held those who reject dialogue and urge foreign intervention in Syria responsible for events taking place in the country.

Ali al-Younes, Chairman of the Committee for Supporting Golan Prisoners, pointed out to the repeated Zionist transgressions against the Syrian prisoners, calling upon the whole world to exert serious efforts to release them.

Later, people of the Golan marched through the occupied villages of Majdal Shams, Baka’ata, Masa’ada and Ain Qniya, affirming their commitment to the Syrian Arab identity and belonging to their Homeland, Syria.

On the sidelines of the national march, a festival was held in the square of Sultan Basha al-Atrash in Majdal Shams, during which speeches were delivered, stressing the inevitability of the occupation vanishing.

The Syrian people of Golan underlined their tenacity to their land, showing true belonging to Syria and continuing struggle against the occupation to liberate the whole Golan.

On this anniversary, Citizens of Golan issued a statement read by liberated prisoner Sidqi al-Makt, affirming their absolute rejection of the Israeli occupation and all its null procedures in the Golan.

They said that “the alternative of resistance is the only one that guarantees the liberation of Golan.”

“The Golan wouldn’t not be except loyal to its Syrian people, army and its national and pan-Arab leadership, represented by President Bashar al-Assad.
